Centre Stage School of the Arts

The Centre Stage School of the Arts provides training in the performing arts and creative play for children and adults. Centre Stage is a long-standing client of Anantya. We provide Centre Stage with all their I.T. requirements including web solutions & ad hoc technical support.

The challenges over the years

In 2003, Centre Stage selected Anantya to build their website. When this project was completed, we were hired to create a School Management System to:

  • accept online student registrations & fee payment

  • create a database to capture and organize student and parent information

  • manage student enrollment and wait-listing

  • create, manage and assign teachers to classes

  • generate PDF invoices for fee payments &

  • generate automatic mailing lists.

The School Management System has been updated, refined and additional functionality added over the years.

When Centre Stage diversified into theatre productions in 2006, we developed a Theatre Booking System. This system allows people to:

  • select seats online in real time on the theatre booking seat map

  • pay for tickets online &

  • print out their actual tickets for the show.

In 2008, the Centre Stage website was completely overhauled. The entire website can be easily edited by Centre Stage staff members using an intuitive editor and there is a snazzy, colourful flash diagram displaying all courses offered.

The approach

We have worked closely with Centre Stage over the years to:

  • meet their growing needs as their business evolved became increasingly successful

  • develop solutions to meet their bespoke requirements as a school and theatre produce &

  • formulate the information architecture for the website using best practices to maximize usability.

The results

  • A website requiring virtually no maintenance with low support costs.

  • Content is always current & not stagnant.

  • Website is easy to use & navigate.

  • Clients find the website very convenient because not only can find out about courses, register and pay online but they can also update their personal account details in their “My Account” page.

Asia Europe Foundation

The Asia Europe Foundation (ASEF) is an intergovermental organisation that promotes mutual understanding and collaboration between the people of Asia and Europe through intellectual, cultural and people-to-people exchanges.

The challenge

In 2007, ASEF selected Anantya to completely overhaul their website to:

  • reflect the ASEF corporate identity
  • make it easier to navigate and find information
  • create content in plain English to improve readability for its worldwide visitors &
  • enable ASEF staff members from various departments to easily update, add and archive their respective web content.

The approach

We worked closely with ASEF to:

  • formulate the information architecture for the website using best practices to maximize usability
  • ensure the web design matched the ASEF corporate identity, by working with ASEF’s corporate identity providers.
  • edit existing content and create new content to improve readability
  • develop the content management system (CMS) so that staff members could easily update the website using an intuitive interface that did not require HTML knowledge &
  • provide different access levels to enable different persons to perform specific functions on the website.

The results

  • A website requiring virtually no maintenance with low support costs.
  • Content is always current & not stagnant.
  • Website is easy to use & navigate.
  • Visitors stay in touch through interactive tools, e.g. e-newsletter.
  • Travelling staff members can still access and update the website.

Spin-offs

Since the completion of the ASEF corporate website, we have further cemented our long-term professional relationship with ASEF by creating the Asia Europe Journal subsite and the ASEF Governor’s intranet.
